What are your “5 Things You Can Do To Help Your Living Space Spark More Joy” and why?

. Lighting: Lighting is the most important thing as it can truly make or break a space. Ambient lighting is essential for places of leisure as it makes a space cozier. The right light temperature is also very important, you want your home to feel comfortable and warm and not like a commercial space. Always keep your home light temperature between 2800k-3000k for that soothing warm feel. I know that this is the kind of lighting I turn to in my own home, and it makes such a difference when wanting to evoke that feeling of comfort.

. Stay true to yourself: If you are a person who loves color, vibrancy, and patterns, or perhaps you prefer soft, muted tones, don’t shy away from it. Embrace what you love and what you are all about, this way, you will always feel comfortable and joyful in your own space.

. Functionality: Functionality is crucial to consider in the designing process, as well as determining who it is you are designing for (factors include children and pets). You need to understand how spaces will be used and by whom. Usually, spaces that are not used as often on someone’s home, happen because they have not been personalized to cater your everyday needs and personal style, leaving these rooms stale and not functional. Ideally, functionality will result from personalization and will inspire you to use and experience all the rooms in your home.

. Greenery and flowers: I am an absolute fan of utilizing natural plants and seasonal flowers as a way to bring color and freshness to a space. There is something about incorporating plants that makes a room more soothing, so having that little bit of nature inside your home can make a big difference in a person’s mood.

. Scent: When it comes to scent, it is all about the experience and the way your senses respond. Personally, I would love to have a rose-scented candle in every room of my home, as that scent really evokes a sense of happiness and brightness in me. I also love the fact that every time I open my front door, the scent lingers in the air.
